Our Story

The Ink Collective was created by two entrepreneurial couples—Shawn & Kari Smith and Ben & Shauna Mitchell—who share a passion for art, community, and building meaningful, creative spaces.

Shawn and Kari bring deep industry experience as the owners of Studio 22 Tattoo as well as Broken Branches Sober Living. Shawn also owns a construction company and has built several Seven Brew locations across the region, giving him an unmatched understanding of how to create spaces that are functional, modern, and built with intention.

Ben and Shauna come from a background in business, branding, and startup development, including sober living programs, Spring Creek Estates (a local wedding and event venue), and multiple real estate and investment projects. With a history of building strong, community-focused brands, they bring a clear vision for guest experience and elevated design.

Together, the four of us set out to create something new for Springfield—
a modern, luxury-inspired tattoo and piercing experience where art, atmosphere, and professionalism come together.

The Ink Collective blends our combined strengths: industry expertise, strong business foundations, creative design, and a shared love for ink and artistry. Our mission is to elevate the tattoo experience through exceptional service, intentional design, and a space where clients feel inspired, comfortable, and confident.
